We have an experienced staff of professionals in risk management and safety consulting. With our team’s technical education in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Regulations, Industrial Safety and Ergonomics, we proudly provide training to management and staff to meet OSHA and individual state requirements.

Our Service Capabilities Include:

  • OSHA Instructor Certifications such as Fork Truck Train the Trainer
  • Authorized instructors for Arkansas Department of Health continuing education program for safety of healthcare workers
  • Multiple certified Approved Professional Safety Source (APSS) to handle Rule 32

In addition, our staff is seasoned with extensive backgrounds working in risk management and insurance claims departments. They provide the necessary understanding of day-to-day operational hurdles to ensure a safe environment for workers and customers alike. We also have in-house proprietary software and staff to mine claims data for safety issues specific to each of our clients.

OUR TEAM

JIMMY SANDAGE is a highly experienced Safety and Health professional with over 20 years of combined experience in Occupational Safety & Environmental Compliance and Life Safety. His background includes working with the Local, State & Federal Government, Health Services, and Fortune 500 companies.

He has also served in the fire service for more than 20 years. His fire experience included responding to incidents such as Commercial & Residential structure fires, Hazardous Materials, Rescue Operations. Training included: Incident Command System, Advanced ICS, Fire Instructor, Hazardous Materials Technician, COBRA Weapons of Mass Destruction for HazMat, and Explosives to just name a few. During his time there, he responded to approximately 1200 – 1500 emergency calls per year.

Jimmy has also been a Lead Crisis Management Instructor for the South Central Region covering AR, TX, LA, and OK for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He has served as Incident Commander of emergency scenes with more than 600 responders.

He graduated from Columbia Southern University with a degree in Occupational Safety and Health.

 

JACK McDANIEL has been with Mike Johnson & Associates since its inception. Jack has expertise in developing fully compliant occupational safety and health programs for industrial, public sector, healthcare and retail clients. He specializes in developing safety training programs tailored for specific sectors.

Jack’s motto is “Make the program comprehensive and the training understandable, interesting and fun.”

Jack has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Monmouth University and graduate courses in Industrial Safety, Ergonomics, and Safety & Environmental Regulations from the University of Arkansas. He is an Approved Professional Safety Source for the Arkansas Workers Comp Commission (APSS #00499). He is a member of the Eta Kappa Nu Honor Society of Electrical Engineers and is a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals.

HISTORY

Mike “Possum” Johnson founded Mike Johnson & Associates in 1995 after a long career at WalMart as the head of loss control and safety. He was an innovator and a successful inventor of safety products.

In fact, he patented the Handy Cone, a pop-up tent-like sign that collapses into a small tube for storage and quick access. Handy Cones are used all over the world as warning signs.

Mike always brought a smile on to everyone’s face whenever he entered the room and he instilled a positive enthusiasm for client driven services that remains today.
